What is the WWS ?

A wire filter is made from rigid single V-shaped wire wrapped around the resistant ribs.

Then the prepared case-jacket is welded onto the base pipe.

Wire wrap screens have one continuous slot along the screen body, wrapped to a very high tolerance. The screens have mostly been used in gravel pack and frac pack applications. In these applications the screens are generally not sized to retain formation sand, but are to provide support for the gravel or proppant.

The screens can be used in open hole, stand-alone screen applications when the slot size is chosen to match the sand size characteristics. The screen open area is several times higher than the slotted liner, and therefore wire wrap screens are less prone to plugging
